Candle in front of Terminal 1: BIAL launches Xovis PTS at BLR Airport
Terminal 1 of BLR Airport has been at the heart of the project, with two hundred Xovis 3D sensors covering departure gates, check-in, immigration, Security Hold Areas of both domestic and international flights as well as Visa sections. The Xovis system empowers internal teams to plan resources well in advance with historical data available from the solution. In addition, Xovis PTS displays live waiting times on the screens at processing points, leading to lowered levels of stress for passengers.
“At BIAL, our aim is to make BLR Airport the most digitally advanced and efficient airport in the world. This system is part of BIAL’s vision to enable journeys, create experiences and touch lives as part of the gateway to a new India,” said Jayaraj Shanmugam, Chief Operating Officer at BIAL.
Alongside BIAL, Xovis has also had the chance of working with local contractor Infosoft Digital Design & Services Pvt. Ltd. (IDDS), who was their technical on-site partner throughout the project. Everyone involved has been on the same page from the beginning. BIAL's drive to get a world-class queue management system in place made for a swift and secure collaboration. BLR is constantly investing in new technologies as it has always been committed to a smooth travel experience. As Xovis solves people flow and the IDDS motto is "Delivering solutions, improving lives," this was a match made in heaven.
"We hope that this is the first of many happy collaborations between our team and the teams of BIAL and IDDS. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was a significant moment; the day reflected the teamwork and comradery we have experienced throughout this exciting project. We look forward to continuing this collaboration should there be a need for system extensions," said Xovis CEO, Andreas Fähndrich.
