Xovis' Airport Software PTS - "Price is what you pay. Value is what you get."
When making an investment, it pays off if you put greater focus to the long-term benefit, rather than the price tag: be it socks, stocks or a Passenger Flow Management System (PFMS). Let us elaborate on the long-term value you get when choosing Xovis.
System Robustness
With a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 25 years, our sensors last longer than many hardware components. In 2019, of our 100,000 sensors installed all over the world, only 270 had to be returned and replaced because of technical failure. That is less than one problem for every three hundred sensors. And in the rare case something does go wrong: you can return a defective device and it is replaced free of charge within the warranty period.
Timeless Application
Most scientists agree that homo sapiens has been able to walk upright for several thousand years. And as long as we keep walking and flowing, Xovis sensors will continue to be capable of detecting and converting human beings into bubbles. This makes our system distinct from other technologies and applicable for many years to come.
Easy-to-use, from installation to utilization
Xovis sensors are PoE devices, a fact that makes the installation and cabling very simple. Our engineers will tell you exactly where the sensor needs to be mounted and only one Ethernet cable needs to be pulled: and you’re done! The only information that leaves our sensors are the coordinates of the bubbles (passengers). No worries about high CPU-consuming video streams. Therefore, Xovis PTS can operate with minimal server processing power and you do not need to make substantial investments to upgrade your IT infrastructure. Xovis software is highly intuitive and very easy to handle for its users after an initial training session.
And if you ever decide to change your queuing layout, upgrade your security screening devices or reposition the immigration desks, you can keep using the sensors you already have installed. A simple reconfiguration by our engineers will do the job.

Xovis Customer Success Cycle
Optimal utilization of your resources
In view of growing passenger numbers, many airports are facing capacity constraints, particularly during peak travel times. Expanding the ground infrastructure is pricey and, unless you have a sandpit in your backyard(?), logistically challenging. The optimal utilization of existing infrastructure is therefore key for most airports. Knowing when your customer turns up at which touchpoint makes your daily operation more predictable and therefore much easier. It enables you to optimize the planning of the shifts of your employees to ensure there is always the right number of staff on duty to process the current passenger turn-up. Infrastructure such as Check-In desks, immigration counters and security screening lanes can be operated and allocated based on passenger turn-up. Besides smoother day-to-day operations and greater passenger satisfaction, these measures will also make your treasurer happy due to the positive impact on your bottom line.
A long-term relationship
When choosing Xovis, you can rely on one single partner for your PFMS. Both hardware and software are developed and manufactured in-house. And our job is not over with the delivery of the project. We want to ensure that you leverage the Xovis system to the maximum. The Air Transport Industry in highly dynamic, exposed to constant change and progress. And that’s why our researchers keep working on new features to provide our customers with solutions to address current and future challenges.
To put a Warren Buffett spin on it: “It's far better to buy a wonderful PFMS at a fair price than a fair PFMS at a wonderful price.”
