Xovis’ new PF-Series 3D vision sensor will be showcased at Synaptics Incorporated’s booth at Embedded World 2026, demonstrating how the Synaptics® Astra™ SL1680 system-on-chip (SoC) enables high-performance AI and vision processing directly on the sensor.

The PF-Series is a production-deployed 3D sensor designed for large-area people tracking and spatial analytics. Based on the Astra SL1680, the system runs AI inference, vision pipelines, and system control entirely on-device, enabling low-latency operation and simplified deployment without external accelerators.

“Xovis has focused on pushing 3D stereovision to scale reliably in complex, real-world environments,” said Christian Studer, CEO and Co-Founder of Xovis. “With the PF-Series, we combined our optical and algorithmic expertise with a tightly integrated AI compute platform to deliver both accuracy and efficiency in a single sensor.”

The PF-Series will be shown as part of Synaptics’ Edge AI processor portfolio, illustrating how system-level integration at the silicon layer enables complete, deployment-ready sensing solutions.

“PF-Series is a clear proof point for integrated Edge AI,” said Vikram Gupta, SVP & GM, Edge Compute & Connectivity Division, Synaptics. “By unifying AI compute, vision acceleration, and system control on Astra SL1680, we enabled real-time vision at the Edge—and Xovis is proving that architecture at production scale.”

    TECHNICAL HIGHLIGHTS

    • The Synaptics Astra SL1680 SoC with integrated 7.9 TOPS NPU, on-chip ISP, and hardware-accelerated image and video pipelines.
    • Optimized fisheye optics and lens–imager alignment, increasing coverage and long-term measurement stability.
    • High integration and power efficiency, supporting PoE+ and simplified installation.
    • Cost-efficient compute density, enabling scalable deployments.

At Embedded World 2026, Synaptics will showcase a live demo of the Xovis PF-Series sensor in Hall 4-A, Booth 259.
